Jah’lih

Jah'lih
Prelate of the Zandalari Empire, Jah’lih has faithfully served as a member of the Empire’s warrior caste since the day he was assigned to it at birth. Stoic, direct and zealous he carries out his duties with pride and without question.

As a Prelate he is afforded special status and respect within the warrior caste, often carrying out orders of religious importance from his superiors in the priest caste. His duties have since expanded, when one day, given a sign from his patron Loa, Rezan, was made to defend and become the ward of the young troll boy Ri’lael. Now training the unapologetic brat in combat and discipline, the later being a most difficult task.

While he might at first glance have more in common with a statue, cold, hard and unmoving, there are those who have managed to see a more tender side of him. Ri'lael in particular has wormed his way into the prelate's heart. While difficult to befriend, he will defend those few with the same unflinching resolve with which he defends the Empire.

The loss of Rezan was hard for him to bear and remains so, yet with the close company of his young charge and companion Ri'lael he was able to weather that storm only to discover another waiting behind it.

A peaceful day in Dazar'Alor would quickly plunge into chaos from a surprise attack and sabotage by the Alliance, led by Jaina Proudmoore. A date overlooking the harbour with him and Ri'lael cut short by the entire Zandalari Fleet going up in flames as the Alliance made landfall.

Jah'lih saw Ri'lael hidden away in his home and quickly put on his prelate armor to join the fray. He fought hard and slew many attackers - even fighting along side Mar'gur Warbane, a friend of his and warrior of incredible skill matching his own. Yet it would not be enough, the the Alliance attackers struck down King Rastakhan and with it the very heart of the Zandalari Empire.

That loss was another blow to Jah'lih, but once again his young companion would step up to balm wounds of his flesh and of his heart as best he could. The future of the Zandalari is an uncertain one but with the fourth war ended it has given the prelate a chance to take stock of what yet remains to be defended. Ri'lael being among the most important to him.
