Hey folks, decided very much last minute to do a Halloween image after rediscovering a Satyr Val model I had from a couple years ago. The theme was obviously spooky so I figured this ‘alternate history’ version of Val corrupted by the nightmare would do the trick.
A darkness lies over the once verdant forests of Val’sharah. Nightmare corruption has spread to all corners and a powerful servant of Xavius roams it. The locals who fled from the spreading corruption believe this servant was once a kind, nature loving druid known as Valnoressa. In years past she had mysteriously disappeared, her friends and family searched for her as long as they could - before ultimately losing hope and accepting that she was gone.
Sacrificed by a powerful Satyr who had enslaved her for years, he murdered young Valnoressa and used her pure soul to restore his form. Into her empty husk he poured the malice, corruption and hatred from the nightmare lord. What was born from it was a being that was entirely the opposite of what the poor druid had once been in her old life. Now she roams the forest, using her nightmare powers to summon thick red pocked vines that sicken the very heart of the forest she once loved.
Where once Val had been kind, peace loving and gentle. This twisted being was violent and maleficent. She grew dominant, sadistic and cruel in her service to the nightmare lord. Druids, Adventurers and Factions that entered the corrupted forest of Val’sharah would meet her wrath. She would toy with those she captured, having her way with them before infusing them with her corruption. The lucky ones died quickly during the process, those not so lucky would suffer for weeks as the blood red vines spread throughout their body. If they somehow survived that, they would live only as mindless minions of their mistress - their controlled bodies roaming the forest to bring her new playthings to torture and twist.
There is nothing for you in Val’sharah, adventurer. You should never go to that place.
And if for some insane reason you must go.
