Ri’lael
A wayward druid in the making from the Echo Isles, this Darkspear left behind his old life at only 16 years of age - abandoning his tribe when they deemed him too weak of body to undergo the trials of a druid. He wished learn how to be like one of the Zandalari druids in a time long before the Horde would join with them during the fourth war. He sought to learn from the Loa that governs what he values most, The natural world. Gonk is the one who Ri'lael would pledge himself to and would live his life in Dazar'Alor to do so. For if the Darkspear would not let him then perhaps the Zandalari would. In his young, naive and ambitious heart he would cross an ocean to at least try.
Living in the enclaves of such a fantastical golden city, he essentially lived the life of the lower class. Brushing shoulders with other lower classes like the Amani and Gurubashi tribes who didn't look favorably on a Darkspear Troll like him.
Ri'lael quickly learned that as fantastic and stunning as Zandalar was, he had simply traded a lower standing among his own tribe for another in a new city among the Zandalari. It was not the paradise he expected and it was clear it faced many problems of it's own. To even survive in this place he had to debase himself to the remnants of the Amani tribe who begrudingly offered him protection. Yet it was at the cost of taking advantage of his feminine allure and his dignity through acts of humiliating himself to balm the wounded pride of a failed and dwindling tribe.
In time he hoped they would soften towards him and treat him better, yet hate is a powerful barrier to breach and those tribes hate more than most. Ri'lael's attempt to escape them on realizing this nearly cost him his life - if not for the unexpected intervention of stranger.
A run in with those same Troll tribes would elevate his position, at least in the eyes of one Zandalari, Jah'lih. A mighty prelate of the Zandalari would step in during a violent altercation, citing a sign from his loa, Rezan, as the reason for doing so. Neither knew it at the time, but it would be the beginning of a close, secret, romantic and sexual relationship between a prelate who was loa-bound to protect a Darkspear druid boy of lower standing.
None could know just how intertwined their fates would be nor how close they would grow to one another. The two have experienced happiness, love and pure bonding yet also have bore witness to each others lowest and darkest moments. Each serving as a firm rock for the other to lean on in years past. The only barrier that remains between them is the different standings they come from and their respective places in Zandalari society.
